Recognising phase 3 sounds and reading in words 

(Year 1)

For children to recap phase 3 sounds (such as sh, ai, ee, oa) and read words that contain them. For children who can confidently blend and read words such as 'fish', 'chat' and 'rain'.
10.30am

Recognising phase 5 sounds and reading in words 

(Begin in Year 1/Recap in Year 2)

For children to recap phase 5 sounds (such as ie, aw, a_e) and read words that contain them. For children who can confidently blend and read words such as 'stamp', 'chair' and 'green'

After watching each lesson, we encourage you to listen to your child read - this can be any book but you will find books linked to their age/phonic stage on Oxford Owl. You can also read aloud to your child and demonstrate how to use sounds to read new words.
