Lakey Lane's 75th Celebrations!
What a fantastic couple of days we have all had!!! Everybody has had a wonderful time and it was lovely to see some old, familiar faces around the school. We were especially excited to welcome the Lord Mayor into all of our classrooms on Friday morning. The balloons were released as we sang 'Happy Birthday' to our school and well done to all of the children for starting the celebrations with a lovely assembly. We would like to say a huge thank you to parents, staff and local companies who helped make both days a great success. We hope that everybody enjoyed the event and we will be adding photos shortly.

Hello to all at Lakey Lane, just came across your website, looking for old friends. I attended from 1961 to 1965. Mrs Ball was my first teacher in reception class. Mrs Davies did music and choir. I enjoyed my time at Lakey Lane and ended up disliking school when I attended other schools. In front of where the Reception class was situated there were the old air raid shelters, we would play on the earth mounds at play time and look down into the merky depths of the shelters. I recently made contact with my best friend from Lakey Lane, after 55 years. We have rekindled our great friendship and remind ourselves of our walks from Hazelville Rd to school and back all those years ago. Incidentally, we retraced our old route to school last year, the memories came flooding back to us two old boys as we set off from Hazelville, very sad to see the poor condition of the shops at Gospel Oak. Best wishes M Davies
I have recently gained employment in a primary school in Cornwall which has made me think about my primary school which was Lackey Lane. I attended from 1975 to 1981. Mr Davies was my Headteacher, my year 6 teacher was Mrs Lopez, I also remember Mrs Phillips, Miss Hurst, Mrs Morgan and Mr Petford. My grandmother also attended many years before me she is now 84. I did not realise that you have had such a special birthday. Happy days. Sally Truscott nee Stagg.
Hey everyone at Lakey! Miss you all so much. I left in 2011 and I'm nearly now in year 11 (time has flown by). I miss being able to not have any responsibility while I played with zone parc equipment, but now it's all revision and exams. I'm so glad my parents chose Lakey as the school for me and I enjoyed my time there. Hopefully coming to see everyone soon before I go in to year 11! :)
