Welcome to SEND support at Lakey Lane Primary School.

If your child has special needs or disabilities they not alone, and our aim is to ensure that they feel nurtured, included and valued in our school.  Lakey Lane's ethos is Safe, Secure, Successful . Every child is different and we understand that they may require different approaches to make them feel 'safe' to learn, 'secure' enough to be who they want to be and 'successful' in terms of their own targets, needs and rate of progress.

" Staff at Lakey have supported me in understanding the needs my daughter has. They have seen her for the person she is and not just a label. " Year 3 parent.

My aim is to be available as much as possible to answer any questions you may have or talk through any concerns you may have about your child and their progress. I will also help you understand what support is available in and out of school, as well as explaining the how the local authority makes decisions on what support we can access for your child, should they need it.  Please be patient. With over 85 children currently on the SEND register, school life is very busy, but I will always aim to answer any queries within a day or two.
